Commissioned Cityscapes, Landscapes, and Maps

Another way to commemorate your favorite space is through a commissioned artwork. I reference 3 to 5 images of your favorite space and ask you details about why it is special, how it makes you feel, what details are most important to you, etc. I then ask if you have anything to send me that I can add into the base layers of the painting, such as a menu for a commissioned restaurant, sheet music from your favorite music hall, or leaves from your favorite meadow. I build up the layers from there leaving you a unique and personalized rendition of your sacred space.

Pricing:

It depends on the amount of detail involved, but loosely painted commissions and pet portraiture generally ranges from $1.25/sq inch to $2/sq inch on stretched canvas or paper (this is for portraits, landscapes, figures, and abstract paintings- science illustration fees are different). The minimum charge is $150 for commissioned works and the minimum size is 8" x 8", (though at that size, the amount of layered materials and background images is limited. I recommend 11"x14" as the smallest size if you want to incorporate custom layers). 50% of the payment is due up front; 50% due upon completion. Changes to the painting are billed at an hourly fee of $65/hour. Please contact me for more information or to reserve your commission.
