Dr. David Condon contacted me regarding a new website. He had been in an ongoing agreement with a service provider that not only hosted the site, but built the site using flash and html some years ago. The monthly fees were outrageous and he was not able to make the necessary changes to the site by himself. I proposed an idea that would integrate all of the content from his previous site (to reduce the amount of run around time gathering content can take) and creating a new look and feel through a wordpress theme.
He agreed to all of my suggestions and let me play with images and content. I had fun making slider images with marketing savvy text as well as little icons for the call to actions and sidebar buttons. After that, I integrated backend SEO tactics, added optimized web content and Google free tools, added images, his logo, and multiple forms for download. Once he saw the hidden development site and approved it, I then was able to move his site live, allowing him to no longer need the high monthly fees of the other contract. Since he was already being seen on Google and Yahoo, I modified his htaccess file so all the old links are now pointing to his new site, and maintaining his ranking on search engines.
