Dr. K Natural Pet Vet
Dr. K is a homeopathic veterinarian who offers house calls, services in 3 clinics and distant treatments. He needed a good website to help him be seen in the three regions he serves and to educate people about the benefits of homeopathic veterinary services.We started by going through the motions of planning. Through planning, we determined goals and objectives of the site, budget, timeline, items that exist and items needed, and a “wish-list” of items to add if budget and time allowed. We then went through and created a sitemap (or list of all items on the site and where they go in the navigation) and from there, plan a wireframe (or an actual crudely, rough layout of where all items will go on each page). Once approved, it’s a dance of coordination where I manage what items need to be done in what order, assign client-tasks, coach clients, all while I’m creating the site.
Dr. K was without a logo or branding, so that was the next step. I provided some samples and soon a choice was made. Next, we did keyword research research (KWR) to see which keyword phrases were being searched the most and which had least competition. Through this KWR, we found an incredible domain name that would help his Google rankings and was available for purchase. Though he already had owned one domain that was not being used, I helped him purchase his domain, get all of his domains on one host, forwarded his old domain to the new domain, and get an email address with his domain name activated. Once the domains and hosting was activated, I started building the site.
Using the KWR data, I integrated those phrases into his navigation as a means to help improve his on-page search engine optimization and ultimately his Google rankings. I provided him some guidance on what content to write and how much was needed while I searched for images to use on the site. Once I licensed and modified the images to fit the site’s needs, I started implementing the changes throughout the site.
