I'm an official Green Business

When I was in UCSC, I received my bachelor's in Environmental Studies- a degree which was known then as the most depressing one around. I learned a lot about the theory of making change and reducing our carbon footprint. But then I got married, had a baby... and we all know how it goes from there. It takes a concerted effort to reduce, reuse and recycle and I am doing my best to incorporate these ideas into my art and design business. To lessen my impact, I recently switched over to biodegradable bags for my prints and 100% post-consumer waste backings for my greeting cards. I use reclaimed cabinet doors as canvases when possible, and do as much as I can electronically to cut down my paper waste. I am happy to announce that my efforts in my business have been recognized by Keep the Sierra Green as a Green Business Leader! I have a long way to go- there are so many ways to change. What simple things can you do to make your business green?

NEW!: Keep the Sierra Green website

I recently completed the design of the new Keep the Sierra Green website. Keep the Sierra Green is a multijurisdictional organization composed of 4 government agencies. (Sounds like a logistical nightmare, but these agencies had it together and were a pleasure to work with)! They approached me with a need for a revamped website where they could make their own edits, have an editable business directory, links to their newsletter and social networks, and some help with their messaging and calls to action. I worked with them to create the necessary design and marketing changes. Once the graphical and marketing pieces were in place, we implemented the backend functionality so they could have the site they wanted. Once approved, we launched the dev site so they could test it. After approval and a training session, we moved it live. Below is their testimonial:
